Dave Matthews Band to Play Virginia Tech Benefit Concert: Setpember 6th

It was announced today that there will be "A concert for Virginia Tech" a benefit concert on September 6th, 2007 at the university's Lane Stadium. Dave Matthews Band will be joined by John Mayer, Phil Vassar and Nas. The artist will be donating thier performances as a celebration of life and a tribute to the Virginia Tech community.
The benefit concert was put together as a way to help students, family and faculty move forward in the aftermath of the events on April 16th at Virginia Tech.
Free tickets to the concert will be made available to all current Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff.
A limited number of reserved and general admission tickets will be made available to Warehouse members through Series 12-2007.
Students must sign into survey.vt.edu to sign up for a lottery. Roughly 8,000 fans will receive tickets on the field, while the remaining fans will be scattered through the east, south and west stands. The main stage will be in the north end zone.

The Warehouse ticketing request period is now open and will close on August 20, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time. The ticketing request period is not first come-first serve, the order in which you place your ticket request does not matter. Confirmations as well as seating information will be issued by the end of the day on August 27, 2007 and tickets will ship via Fed Ex 2-business day signature required service on August 28, 2007. The ticket price for "A Concert for Virginia Tech" is $65.00 per ticket plus convenience, handling and shipping. No funds from the Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund will be used to cover expenses for this concert. Corporate sponsorships, the sale of commemorative concert items and Warehouse ticket sales will help to cover the expenses associated with the logistics of the concert.
